A couple keyboard shortcuts I would really love to see,

1: An "autorun" key, similar to most FPS, so that I don't have to hold down the W key all the time. Some of us are getting on in years and RSI is a bitch.

2: A zoom view, like binoculars, doesn't really help having weapons that can shoot several KM when I can't see what the hell I am shooting at. Sometimes I just want to look at things. Again getting old and eyesights not what it used to be. Could even be tied to the scanner system if it's considered unbalancing, the more effective your scanner the more magnification you can have. (ok so this is more a new feature request than just keys)

3: Ship turning, which is currently mouse only. I realize it doesn't fit around the current WASD cluster setup, which is perfect as it is , but maybe the arrow keys since they are mousehand keys anyway?

4: Standard Ctrl+Z, Ctrl+V, etc for advanced buildmode. The interface is beyond clunky. Someone already suggested block rotation, but it's worth saying again. Block rotation is a frequently accessed function and it doesn't help that the server saving dialog is always over it when I want to use it ;)

Block rotation has a shortcut, hold left CTRL and scroll your mousewheel, make sure the mouse is off the advance build panel.

As for the others, +1. We need some shortcuts!

You can move that dialogue box by editing a config file. See the following thread for details:

    http://starmadedock.net/threads/is-there-a-way-to-move-the-server-not-responding-window.5836/

    For the server dialogue new X coordinate, take your game's X size (E.g. 1280x800 will have a X size of 1280, 1920 x 1080 will have a X size of 1920) and subtract 240.

I think you really dont need an autorun option. Just an autopilot where you have to set a
Course to a sector. That woult prevent the problem with turning sectors and youll dont get in a black hole or somewhere else.
You only should have an option to autopilot a known sector. A Fog of War option in the server options would be great for that. When you press P you only see the known sectors
Problem could be, when you fly just straight one way with a toggled key and loaded somethousands of sectors, that isnt good for your client and for your server either. Have you ever needed a runtoggle option in Minecraft? think about it.
And after they implemented a Jumpdrive i think you dont need a keytoggle option any more.
If you really badly need a W key toggle, than just use second programs like keytoggler or multiklicker tools or put a little sticky or something between your W and 2 3 keys
