So I have been working on a Harrower, 1:1 scale, and my ship just passed a million mass. Now when I try to enter the game and build on it, after the ship renders, the game crashes. Is anyone else having this issue for large ships?

I can run all of my other games in high settings no problem. This is the only game giving me an issue. I've no need to update my PC yet.

Did you try adjusting the JVM memory settings in the launcher?

If you want better advice you'll probably need to give some information about your computer and settings.
A not-necessarily-obvious factor can be GPU/video card memory. If you have 1 GB or less you should probably look at reducing the max segments (view distance) or texture resolution, etc. I would guess that 2 GB is common and usually OK, but it might be worth trying in that case also if this happens only in the presence of large objects.

You can also increase memory settings in the launcher (initial panel) in case that is the issue, assuming you have free memory to spare.

I had tried upping memory. At this point it is using 6 gigs and only half is every used in the game. I'm not sure what other information you would need, but I would be happy to provide it.

Crash the game again with the ship and upload the log.txt.0 file (newest timestamp) from your logs folder in the Starmade install here.
    That may contain useful information.
    What is your OS?
    What is your GPU?
How much memory did you allocate in the Starmade Laucher (Options->Memory Settings)?

Windows 7, Gigabyte GTX 260, I allocated 6 in the launcher

I figured out, however that if you don't allocate it in Java also, it's not used, which I ended up doing and it stopped crashing my game. So hurray!
