Asteroid Distribution

Hi everybody. I have been playing Starmade in the new Galaxy update inside of a new pretty galaxy. One thing I have been trying to do is mine resources from asteroids. I have noticed that there appears to be 3 sets of 8 kinds of resources. Each type of Asteroid contains a set of resources. So the purple Asteroids contain Sugil, Sintyr Shards and Threns Ore, other asteroids contain different sets. From what I can tell, some asteroids are rarer than others. I have thus far been able to find 7 types of asteroids but cannot seem to find blue Larimar asteroids.

So my question is, do different asteroids spawn at a different rate across the whole galaxy, or is it specific to systems or sectors? Are the blue asteroids spawning at all?

They spawn in asteroid belts. Press "P" to see them

I have checked over 100 asteroid sectors in many different parts of the galaxy. I have not seen any blue asteroids.

I had the same problem with Larimar, It was because the textures were nearly the same as Sugil. But I somehow found some Larimar at the edge of the system.

That's the only type I cannot find either. Still haven't found one after a couple days. I'll check the outer edges to see if they spawn there next chance I get

I'm almost sure distribution of asteroids is a random event.
At the moment I'm hunting for Dolom that seems nowhere to be found.

Reminder that planets spawn a pretty decent amount of resources too

I found Domom ice asteroids to be rare too. I did end up finding it though. I also found that if one sector had them, then a couple of sectors next to it would also have them.

I try not to get too close to planets as the large ones kill my frame rate on my laptop. Also Asteroids respawn where as I don't believe planets respawn. Which planets have the same resources that the Larimar asteroids have?

Planets spawn random resources. Each segment has two crystal/ore types and no stone blocks.

I can confirm Blue Asteroids are present in the current build, they seem rare but I harvested one last night. It was the first I have seen in 40+ asteroids.

Hope this helps, I do think the spawn amount of asteroids should be increased. I have already mined out several sectors worth in my first few hours...

WHere did you find it? I have noticed that some asteroids spawn only in certain areas. For instance ice Dolom asteroids spawn in the outer areas of the solar system where as the molten lava one spawn in the inner system. Also, was that world a new world made since the galaxy update or an old world that was just updated?

There are some asteroids in the void sectors, but I've only seen a few.

They were in an asteroid sector, I also encountered another blue roid last night, they do appear to be quite rare mate from my experience.

There's one within view of my mining station on the test server; it isn't all that rare to see one in my experience but IDK.

All of them do spawn, but i also have the feeling that they do not all spawn with the same chance.
I do see a lot of red ones and those with massive lava cores (tekt i think)
but yes ... spawn they do
