Skyboxes

    Greetings all,
    For those of you who don't use the procedural skyboxes, I make static ones. I am currently working on another set. However I am growing frustrated because I can't get the colors to look right when imported to Starmade. Everything seems muted. Does anyone know how starmade deals with skyboxes? I think it might be an issue with how it imports 32 bit png files? I am trying to find a workaround or a way to adjust my skyboxes so they look right. Any help would be much appreciated.

    hey if you can, try doing some homeworld skyboxes, they are absolutely beautiful

    I may be able to give them a try. However I cannot get the current skyboxes to work properly anyway. So the point is moot until I get this problem fixed.

    I would love to see them on planets :p
    Er, planets don't get their own skyboxes, and only Schema could add support for that currently. The atmosphere model and shaders need fixing anyway.

    Have you tried increasing the brightness of the PNG to counteract the muting?

    oh my yes.

    I have not tried increasing the brightness or contrast. I will give that a go this afternoon.

    If you're using 24-bit PNG files you might also try converting them to 32-bit.

    and you are sure the game is also using 32bit and not 24bit and tries to convert you picutres down ? and yes .. i have no idea ;)
