    $ java -version
    openjdk version "1.8.0_171"
    OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea 3.8.0) (Gentoo icedtea-3.8.0)

    One of the first things I do on a fresh StarMade install is point the launcher to my system installation of OpenJDK. This would save me a few clicks :)

    "Hey Boss, lets wait till tens of millions of people start using it, then make it subscription based"
    "Great idea!"
    Wouldn't be the first time this has happened... GIF, compress utility, MP3, JPG... just to name a few... fortunately all of those software patents have expired.

    This is something Schine should seriously look into.

    At least this helps me find something to screw around with to see the setup of for later. Been needing to refresh my java skills anyways.

    I thought the bundled version of java that came with starmade was already openjdk...

    If I was near my computer I would actually check, instead of merely conjecturing...
