I have a couple of suggestions and I hope I put this in the right spot.
1.steam workshop for blueprints probly already been said but when i looked I did not see it so here it is.
it would be easier for us user to add blueprints if we had that might even get you move users. Or a in game link to a spot where we can upload and download. That way we don't have to go looking for it.
    2. I know this would be hard be an starmade open sever like elite dangerous sever or perment pve and pvp severs. Also being able to see the kind of sever that it is in the online listing.
    3. character creation I think it would be to make your character how you want even if its just basic things like hair color and things.
    4.Story line
5.monsters or animials on planets. life on the planets.

Over all I think that you guys are doing a great job way better then stellar over load as the game is simple but lacking "when I say lacking I mean stellar overload" The only thing they got is the steam workshop. But like I said doing a great job keep up the good work.

Sharing blueprints in-game is an addition that in my opinion makes the game way more fun. I play this game almost exclusively with people I know in real-life and we have one rule. Once the game is running you don't shut it down. I noticed if that rule is not there everyone is always playing alone and we almost always just get bored and quit. If BPs could be downloaded in-game it would make it so that leaving the game would only be necessary when a bug occurs.

For me being able to share BPs in-game is one of the things that's on top of the list, but eventually it all depends on what the majority of the player-base thinks and what the Shine-team thinks is the best way to implement things.

TBB Open the catalog, select the blueprint, edit the permissions so your faction has access or temporarily allow access from your homebase while a friend is visiting. Done. Shared.

It's easy to share blueprings in game.

    I meant BPs from starmadedock.

EDIT: From starmadedock.net. Not from my own server.

You mean to download from starmade dock and import the blueprint while still in-game?

Just tab out, you can edit the starmade folder while game is running (works with templates, not tested with blueprints but should work), the game dosent need a restart for this.

It's been my experience that the game does I'm fact need to be restarted when adding blueprints, both with the import tool, AND manually. One thing I haven't tried tho, is to manually import a BP to my local blueprints folder, then hop onto my server and upload it to the server from my local files.

    Hmmmm... Tests.

You can share BP's in game, but it's better to share as a shipyard plan instead and the blocks. Unless it's changed, if the BP is removed from the catalog, when you spawn it you just get a bunch of blocks and no entity. The only issue with the shipyard plan is you need to transport the materials or have them in the shipyard already.

Getting BPS from the docks directly to the game - yes. I would like this also. Preferably integrated into the GUI. I pull BPS from the docks into game, but for many new players it's a confusing, non-intuitive experience, and that is something that could definitely stand some streamlining and general improvement.

What would be a very cool corollary to making Dock BPs feed directly into the game would be an addition to the permissions for your own ship BPs that allowed you to instantly share them to The Dock (and thereby effectively share them across servers with every other player).

    Internet of BPs.

We'd need GUI support to filter by 1. Engineers (it would be nice for cumulative, collective development if the BP recorded the name of everyone who had made changes to it thus far, but it would probably also encourage random, pointless modding for the sake of just having one's name on a cool ship, so engineer will probably have to be whoever uploaded the particular version of the BP/design.), 2. Upload date/time ranges, 3. Community rating, 4. All the stats (mass, power, shields, cost, offense points, thrust mass ratio, etc), and probably more.

Also would be nice if we could just rate & review the BP in-game as we use it. This would make the entire shipbuilding and sharing process far more accessible to every player.

This really seems beyond the scope of what the game is meant to be...
Why would this be beyond the scope?

Being able to share BPs in-game is just simple UX. All you can say is that it requires an account, but you don't need to force people to make one.
As for the other items the OP mentioned don't really look like they're beyond the scope either.

    2. I know this would be hard be an starmade open sever like elite dangerous sever or perment pve and pvp severs. Also being able to see the kind of sever that it is in the online listing.
This is all up to the server-owners as StarMade develops it's software for the community to hosts their own games.
I think the only reason why this is not happening is the fact that the StarMade-version that is being hosted can have game-breaking bugs or missing features. No one would join a server with a StarMade-version multiple release-cycles old.

    3. character creation I think it would be to make your character how you want even if its just basic things like hair color and things.
This exists already. Not like Saints Row character creation, but you can import you're own skins.

    4.Story line
This might be an exception. For a sandbox game it's not really obvious to have a storyline as it wouldn't contribute much... I think.

5.monsters or animials on planets. life on the planets.
You've probably met the space-spiders/space-crawlers. I'm guessing this is on schema's list.

I meant merely the blueprint sharing directly via the site. This isn't an mmo where you are connected to hundreds of other players at a time. This amount of connectivity seems a bit overboard compared with the scope of the game.

Starmade is a SP game. It's also a MP game. It's also one of the games you get to keep "forever" and can play independent of schine's state of existence. This particular method of BP sharing is heavily dependent on the starmade dock being up and running, which at its core goes against what starmade is meant to be, which is a complete game that you own, instead of a subscription based "service".

That being said, if something like this does come about, you won't catch me complaining about it lol.

It seems like we don't share the same opinion... It's just the game connecting to a server that already exists. It's not even one long session throughout the whole game. When you want to list BPs, download the BPs or maybe even upload them is when a session runs until that one request finished. It's nothing fancy.

I get what you say, but nothing will happen if this service isn't provided any more. It's the same like the login when the game starts. You've always got the option to just skip it.

yes, I agree adding it to the steam workshop doesn't change the game at all. now I would understand if there was not already blue print shareing but there is. Adding it to the steam workshop just makes it easier not only with importing and exporting, in finding them to. Right now their system is not very good you have to go through a long list and go forwards and backwards. Till you find what you want. But not with steam workshop. Its all layed out there with the pictures shown before you click anything and to make things better you don't have to import anything you just click subscribe and its in the game not to mention, if the maker makes updates its automaticly updates. And btw the way blueprint shareing has nothing to do with it being a mmo or not. With what you said "at least this is how it comes off Brokengauge" People should stop moding and stop makeing blueprints because the devlopers did not come up with it. But heres the thing they made the blueprint sharing and the ablity to mod possible so the game is going in the dirction that they want it too. At least thats my two cents.

Like I said, I won't be complaining lol. I personally don't see a need for it. Of course, I also don't use steam, so using the steam workshop is a feature which I would gain nothing from. But my I initial post was my opinion on it. I still think everyone's game instance being connected to a single server, even if it's just for downloading BP's, is steering it towards mmo territory.

But whatever, its fine. Its all fine. Really, its fine.

Somebody could build something outside the Dock where the BP's could be managed with security and version control.
    Perhaps another web source altogether.
Then the Dock could also then integrate with that new source.

Similar to the voting system, but more interactive and most likely more complicated.
I can see something like a wrapper based plug-in to the game would make this work.

I've been thinking of something like this also. You could have multiple repositories. This way if one dies there is no problem, but it adds so much complexity that I don't see the Shine-team working on a project like that. Maybe it is possible to shift that work to the community though (if there is a way for "us" to implement that in the first place).
