Actually, re-reading this I may have inadvertently hit upon an idea. How about an Asteroid carving competition? A bit like Chainsaw Art, only using a salvage cannon instead of a Build Block

Cool idea. In my earlier days designing miners I tested several salvage beam arrays specifically to experiment with 'brushes' ( or chisels I suppose). I tried a cluster of powerful beams in the middle surrounded by weaker beams to get a softer curve on the edges. A narrow tight beam for drilling & sharp detail and fan-shapes. Each gave interesting variations in the material removed.

I never actually did much sculpting but that was before the asteroids started taking Ass-Steroids ( and got big-assed ).:D

The asteroid update resulted in a dramatic increase in size; resembling the use of steroids (ASS-steroids) which would cause them to become BIG-assed.

So basically, we have a bunch of half-assed-asteroids pumped full of ass-steroids to create a bunch of big-assed asteroids.

What's so confusing about that?

The "Dave" model was losing its appeal so I broke out a can of Photoshop and went to town. Unfortunately it's not on CC, as my personal likeness is under the helmet.

Every once in a while, I may make a skin for another player upon request; provided my free time allows for it.

Watching the sun set in Starmade can take some time. Or do planets rotate themself or around the sun btw?

Depending on your relative orientation to the planets and stars, you actually can simulate a sunset/sunrise; quite easily in fact. Given that we play in a simulated environment with an accelerated time passage rate, you can even see the effects of planetary rotation and revolution as they are happening. I've watched the sun rise and set many times while building my cities. Sometimes I stop to admire the view; hence the screen shots.
