Given the current state of things, I think perhaps steamVR would be more practical than the oculus API. After all, the former has some support for the latter, while the latter... well, you've seen the news. DRM, DRM being hacked, more DRM, et cetera. I'm not sure it would be much of an issue, but the steamVR climate does seem more hospitable at the moment.

    You've lost me at SteamVR.
I was thinking of trying starmade with my Google Cardboard + Trinius.

That was for the DK2, I doubt schema has updated it to work with the CV1.
I quite distinctly remember the option for StarMade not too long ago (two months maybe?). I only linked the forum post because I didn't want to bother stealing the image.

If anything, this is more of a interesting test to see whether or not Google Cardboard would work well enough for StarMade, 'cause, y'know, VR ships are nice.

Yes, we have supported Oculus Rift in the past and plan to support it in the future. It is not currently available in the new menu.

Ah, thanks for clearing things up.
It's a bit of a let-down for now, but I can't wait to see this in the future.

Can't wait to pilot capital ships and scouts with VR headgear though.

Somebody actually used VR headgear with Starmade. wow. I'm impressed.
