Elwyn Infinity advertises itself to be a faction pvp conquest server, it claims to take StarMade PVP to the next level, does it live up to its claims?
ABSOLUTELY YES IT DOES!
Lemme just start by saying that Elwyn Infinity has no pirates, and no trading guild and the only shop is at 2 2 2, you're probably thinking this is a bad thing.
But think about this, players can currently use shop modules to create their own shops, so thats content for PVE players who want to play the merchant game, you will end up with mining corporations who sell ores to the merchants, more PVE content, with defenceless miners there will be pirates who want to get the loot for free, thats some roleplay content right there, with that, you will end up with player police and mercenary factions protecting the miners and upholding the law, more roleplay content.
So without even advertising as a PVE and Roleplay server, you basicly have a server with the perfect balance of Roleplay, PVE and PVP, having no trading guild also encourages players to make player shops you can set the prices of your shops to be as you please, essentially making a 100% PLAYER ECONOMY, no more static NPC prices, market competition, corporate espionage, the possibilities are unscripted and endless.
Instead of NPCs doing a bad job at filling this role, players now control the economy and can amass riches and become very powerful, imagine you had enough money you could literally point at something and a merc faction will go destroy it, you could maybe form a government, buy out corporations to expand your own empire, heck, you could make a casino with and make money by attracting people to your casino, MORE ROLEPLAY ANYONE?
Next thing I should probably state is that Elwyn Infinity also has a unique faction conquest configuration, on other servers, your faction points decreases if you have territory outside your homebase, on EI this increases as you gain more territory! This pretty much means that in order to keep your homebase protected, you need to control unprotected territory nearby, that can be attacked and cause your enemies faction points to drop, this forces people to defend their territory rather than sit in a homebase and hide until the attacking force leaves.
You can effectively conquer an enemy's homebase by taking out their outposts and destroying their homebase!
No more "We are under attack, everyone dock your ships to the homebase and logout!" you now have to say, "We are under attack, everyone log on and get ready to counterattack!" This means factions also have territory to fight over, SOMETHING to fight over, thats is a good thing for the StarMade community, less forum wars, more ingame stuff!
The final good thing about EI is the hardware, server wide lag is nonexistent the only lag I have ever got what client side lag due to bad game coding, so if you are sick of servers that constantly lag when someone is planet mining JOIN Elwyn Infinity!
And I guess the best thing to say is that if you do not believe what I am saying, log on and try it out for yourself!
