I ended up on this thread, when the title caught my attention. I expected to hear a well thought out argument about a feature that should be added. That isn't exactly what I got. Though I did manage to derive intense feelings of frustration, which slowly turned into disbelief, which turned into historical laughter.

Overall, this thread has been a good.... well its been an experience. Thank you all.

Communism is the opposite of good. Not only is it a social structure that crumbles due to being easily corrupted, but it also is a bad social/political ideology in the first place. The idea that nobody owns anything and that everything is owned equally is rather silly. It creates some pretty dire food situations, which lead to long queues of people who just want some bread to be handed out. Not only that, but it also relies on everyone constantly working, even if there is not work to be done, which ends in the government creating a bunch of made up work to satisfy the economy, but not the people, leaving them depressed.

It's also terrible due to the nature of entitlement. People will always believe that they 'own' x, because of y reasons. Taking this away can create a rather odd stance with the mind, and ultimately leads to greed and corruption. It's especially bad if it's implemented in the middle of a primarily capital sate. Take a look at Australia for example, the Union is currently pushing Australia for more tax imbalance. Those who are "rich" can be taxed up to 60+%, while those who are "poor" can be taxed to as little as 30-%, and those who haven't got a job have welfare, where they are provided with all of the money they need to survive. It becomes a massive drain on the economy, for both the country and the people that live in it. The Australian government is spending ~20% of it's GDP to welfare, and those are for people who cannot be bothered with getting a job, due to how much they're given. And mind you, that's 20% of the income from taxes which are paid by the few who pay 60+% of their income. This whole socialist give money from rich to poor shit is stupid, and timtee is a moron for assuming that having a lot of money is a sin. And don't even get me started about religion pulling a Stalin for thousands of years...

I wouldn't usually try to bring anything remotely relating to politics into a game forum, but actually living in Australia and knowing how much misinformation you're putting out I have to amend a few things.
If you're in the highest tax bracket in Australia you pay 30% tax on your first $180,000 earned and 45% on anything above $180k, and tax minimisation is big business here. Corporate tax rate is 28.5%, but then most of the more profitable companies take their profit and pay 50-90% to their overseas parent companies in 'service fees' and pay a pittance here.
Welfare spending overall is just under 10% of GDP (36% of Federal government revenue), and breaking it down further only 7% or just over $10billion of that welfare expenditure goes to unemployed and temporarily disabled jobseekers. That equates to less than 1% of GDP, and 2.5% of government revenue. The remaining majority of this welfare expenditure is mostly old age, veteran and disability pensions, and so called middle class welfare (Single unemployed parents of young children and low to middle income working families, IE the people spending to keep the economy ticking over) We have one of the most expensive real estate market's in the world so half or more of most people's welfare income goes towards rent.

All this, and we manage to maintain one of the highest standards of living in the world, with lower crime and homelessness than the USA across the board, and with the budget increases planned from next year onwards the 7th highest defense budget in the world, which we'll need because we keep following the USA into every damn war they lie about to engage in. So overall it's nowhere near Communism, and not quite US style free market capitalism either, but overall it's a damn sight better than you described.
