Ok I am working on a long tern project of a big ship. Currently, with the new patch, the game can handle it. But for now there is only parts of thre hull and no systems installad.

Can I get the game to handle the ship with a better PC or is the game itself the bottleneck for now? Or is there a limit for how big the ship can be even with game finished?

Also here is the ship in question

I have seen bigger ships already, so the game itself is unlikely the bottleneck.

I doubt there will ever be a "limit" to ship size, Although past a certain size may be "un-optimal" (or may require escorts?).

But yeah, there are bigger ships floating around already :p so no worries (so long as your computer can handle it).

Crusade is working on a 2.4km long ship, so you shouldn't have an issue :)

oh and was there any word with the ingame money? Ships that size are waaaayyy over the credit limit and can as far as I know only be "bought" with admin commands.

with more than 2k in any direction you will start to struggle. Unless you are flying a spire or a phallus, the ship size is only limited by the amount of time/credits you're willing to put into it (especially if you hit the credit limit and you're still building) and how densely populated your corner of the universe is.

You couldn't ever have a full or even half scale Deathstar, because things like shops and ''planets'' would spawn inside of it. Forget the CPU requirements, when it's a pain in the ass to fly without bumping into things, you've hit the limit. Results may vary ^^

You can set your sector size high enough that it wouldn't be an issue. 5,000 is only the suggested max size.

The limit is when you fall asleep after an attempt to turn. Other than that its the fps you are willing to build with.

In Single-player, the limit is what your computer can handle and what you feel like putting up with in terms of FPS.

In Multi-player, when the server lags to death and/or crashes while trying to compute your ship, and an admin deletes it and possibly punishes you and/or your faction, your ship is too big.

Turning speed reaches the minimum at 300m or so, doesn't it?

I own something similar for my private server, I could probably stop the bitcoin mine for a bit to build my ship
If it's not a giant box or cylinder say goodbye to your life... The problem here wouldn't be the computer but the actual time it takes to build it. Not to mention that you could only view ~2km segments at a time.

The max view segments is 20,000, not 2,000.

Yes but segments stretch out in ALL directions - with every segment their amount grows exponentially to the point where you aren't really increasing your view distance much if at all, but you can still draw entire ships once loaded.
