This looks very promising, than you for taking the time to do this

Although I'd suggest adding some kind of visible scale on the opacity slider, either notches along the slide or ideally an actual numerical value at the side so the user can keep opacity levels consistent across different designs

1 1/2 week later:
Version 2 is getting ready. The in my opinion most complicated things are implemented and - well just take a look at these neat little gifs

Version 2 of SMSG will have toggleable backgrounds. These are going to be stored in a folder that comes with the download. Therefor you can easily remove them permanently or add your own. Just a aesthetic feature.

The next gif is definitely more interesting. It demonstrates how inferior the old version is when it comes to customizations.

So what is happening here? Well, all you do is selecting a color and adjusting the opacity of the color overlay with a slider.

Note: Any bad looking graphic (for example the color selector) is the fault of my gif compressor.

Update: I'm done with my exams for this year and therefor can work on it full time now if Skyrim doesn't decide to take over my live . Should i be able to get into programing-mood a release could be possible around Monday - no promises though because it's freaking hot here

Anyway if you want to see some progress i uploaded a skin and some parts of that skin will be included in the next updated version

Good news: Things i did made other things easiert to implement. Some bugs here and there but nothing i can't easily fix.

A little tool to split textures into parts and a .smskin decompiler will be included so that you can steal someones skin
Maybe not in the first release but these will definitely come at some point as at least the .smskin decompiler isn't hard to do.

Oh and does anyone have good 900x640 screenshots i could implement as random backgrounds?

Works just like Dave's usual shading overlay, except I have put in some extra shading by hand to make the skin seem more feminine. This overlay strives to make every skin it overlays a "female" skin through shading.


Note, this overlay may work best for a more form-fitting look.

I like to be mentioned if my work is used, but what I want most is to have my work available for people to access, use, and edit however suits them.

That's a really cool idea, I like how it can be applied to any other skin Not sure if you're taking constructive criticism but, perhaps a little shading around the hip/waist area to make the hips seem wider and the waist narrower? Something like this only mire subtle and less like a bowling pin ;-)

Thank you for the critique! There actually is some shading on the front around the hips and abdomen, though it's subtle. It's more visible on the sides. In time I may consider releasing slightly different shading overlays for those who want more, but this female overlay was the first one I made like this, and I did not want to make it over-sexualized. So in the future I may edit it or make another available that is more curvy looking. Again, thanks for the comment, I probably SHOULD make one with more shading there!

Blodge Thadius Faran those are some neat screenshots. I placed some of them (and slightly edited them) in my workspace and i think they fit perfectly! A album of all currently included backgrounds (everything can be deleted and more can be added by yourself)

Blodge i first thought that the glass visible in the fourth picture could be annoying to some people. I was wrong. It adds a really nice effect to the entire thing (but thats just my opinion):

Thank you for the critique! There actually is some shading on the front around the hips and abdomen, though it's subtle. It's more visible on the sides. In time I may consider releasing slightly different shading overlays for those who want more, but this female overlay was the first one I made like this, and I did not want to make it over-sexualized. You're welcome I wasn't intending for the design to be sexualized, I have to be able to focus on where I'm flying, after all I'm sure a suitably suggestive female shape can be made without having to go full Kardashian. Do you have any pics of the shading applied in-game? It might be easier to see how the existing shading works.
