    I had an Idea how to make a Weapon system that I will try to explain.



    People tend to aim for the Core (Orange Marker). While your Shields are up you have one High range Weapon if you loose your Shields and someone shoots at your Core they will go through the yellow Block. When the yellow Block is destroyed you end up with 2 Weapons, you loose Range but with 2 Weapons you have more Dps.

    So instead of making 2 Weapons (High range and high Dps) you have one and save a lot of Blocks.

    This can be done with a lot more than 2 Weapons of course! So the more Damage you take the more you will be able to dish out in return.

    I hope someone has suggestions how to improve this idea, or point out some problems.

    Your plan appears to require that your 'victim' stay directly in front of you and not shoot you from any other angle, or that you would have to be capable of keeping your ship aimed at them throughout any battle.

    Well this works on Turrets that should face enemy's and the middle Blocks that connect the Weapons can be longer and go around the core.

    if your oponent is shooting dead on to your core you won't have enough time to utilize this extra dps.
    Your plan seems flawed, but a funny thought play.

    It could theoretically work if, say, you had 80 blocks between the front splitting block and the core.

    Yes it would have to be a long ship so there is a lot of armor between the splitting block and the Core.
    Than again if you have a ship thats long enough you could even dock a shield ship between so you have shields after the splitting.

    Regarding that it only works if you are being shot at from the front... you need to face your enemy anyway to use this weapon so thats not a big problem.

    even if you face your enemy from the front there is still a bigger chance that he will be shooting from an angle rather then 90 degrees straight to the core

    Thats what I thought, however, You could adapt this design, supposedly. The only issue is that They will only need a lucky shot and you're dead anyway.
