How to make crew stay in the ship?

I hired 4 NPCs. I told the first one to walk onto a block in my ship, and when he arrived there, he the ship's gravity caught him and bound him to the ship. I could move the ship at any speed, without the NPC falling off.
I did the same with the second NPC. That went fine, too.
But the 3rd and 4th NPCs just refuse to be affected by the ship's gravity. Is there a limit to how many entities the gravity can affect, or am I doing something wrong?
[DOUBLEPOST=1433532215,1433530532][/DOUBLEPOST]I managed to drag them along somehow. Their feet still wouldn't stick to the floor like the first two NPCs, but they stayed inside the ship for a while... until I accelerated too rapidly, and all four of them flew in different directions. I found one of them, but the other three became "unloaded". Did they die?

The NPC crew aren't really worth toying with until Schine has the opportunity to develop them further. What is currently in game isn't much more than a place holder.

I know. I still want to take them to my planet.
They're simply too buggy right now. There are ways to admin command entities into your planet though. Land on your planet and type /spawn_creature. That should make a man appear right on top of you.

Here's a list of more helpful creature commands, in case you wanted to have citizens.

    • creature_animation_start
      • DESCRIPTION: forces an animation for a creature
      • PARAMETERS: Animation(String), LoopMode(String), Speed(Float), FullBody(Boolean)
      • EXAMPLE: /creature_animation_start TALK_SALUTE loop/dont_loop 1 true/false
    • creature_animation_stop
      • DESCRIPTION: stops the forced animation
      • PARAMETERS:
      • EXAMPLE: /creature_animation_stop
    • creature_enter_gravity
      • DESCRIPTION: debug for gravity on AI creature
      • PARAMETERS:
      • EXAMPLE: /creature_enter_gravity
    • creature_goto
      • DESCRIPTION: order selected to go to
      • PARAMETERS:
      • EXAMPLE: /creature_goto
    • creature_idle
      • DESCRIPTION: makes the select one idle
      • PARAMETERS:
      • EXAMPLE: /creature_idle
    • creature_rename
      • DESCRIPTION: Renames the selected creature or AI character
      • PARAMETERS: Name(String)
      • EXAMPLE: /creature_rename ACreature
    • creature_roam
      • DESCRIPTION: makes the select one roam in a small space
      • PARAMETERS:
      • EXAMPLE: /creature_roam
    • creature_script
      • DESCRIPTION: sets the creature to a script in /data/scripts/
      • PARAMETERS: Script(String)
      • EXAMPLE: /creature_script MyScript.lua
    • creature_sit
      • DESCRIPTION: order selected to sit down
      • PARAMETERS:
      • EXAMPLE: /creature_sit
    • creature_stand_up
      • DESCRIPTION: order selected to stand up from sitting
      • PARAMETERS:
      • EXAMPLE: /creature_stand_up
There are even more admin commands and related entity commands here, too.

Having them sit in the ship (using admin commands) is the only way I've successfully been able to transport them. Sometimes this doesn't even stick and they get left behind on a sector change or warp.

Best way to have NPC decorations (that's all they are at the moment) is to ask an admin very nicely to put them around your planet or station.
