The Lynx was the UCS shipyards first attempt at designing a civilian craft for the sole purpose of recreation. This small cutter class ship is powered by two powerful oversized fusion torches mounted to underslung wings. These powerplants provide the craft a 10:1 thrust to mass ratio for maximum acceleration and top speed. The duel core allow the ship to operate in either a sprinting mode for fast sub-light speeds and increased maneuverability or allow the use of an enhanced FTL drive for long range journeys.
The interior of the Lynx while cramped has enough facilities to support a crew of two for extended sprint races or long journeys into deep space. These facilities include two bunks, private toilet facility, and a small kitchenet. The rear USD is accessible via a small airlock that allows for ship to ship transfers without the risk of exposing the living space to vacuum or for extravehicular activity.
