Type-31 Exoatmospheric Multi-role Fighter

    Type-31 Exoatmospheric Multi-role Fighter 2016-02-20

The Seraph-class starfighter from Halo; more specifically, one based on the Seraph found in Halo: Reach. 1:1 scale, with matching width and length (though I had to take guesses on the height, and had to improvise for the cockpit. Comes with an AI module.

The most notable difference between this recreation and the real Seraph is the lack of a jump drive; I built the fighter as a supplement for a larger, in-progress, jump-capable ship, and therefore designed the Seraph as an escort. This means that, while an effective fighter craft, it falls short as a personal shuttle.

Compared to the Isanth Type-zero, the Seraph is the better fighter. It was able to withstand head-to-head rapid cannon fire with it's shields before disabling the Isanth's weapon systems.

In another test, constituting 2 Seraphs against 4 Isanths, both Seraphs focused on one ship and eliminated it - that is, destroying half of the ship's structure - before losing their shields. Soon afterward the Seraphs' shield systems faltered, but they were able to destroy a second Isanth. Following the destruction of the third ship the first Seraph finally took considerable damage to its cannons, but the second Seraph easily dispatched the fourth and final Isanth. Neither of the Type-31s overheated, and both only took considerable damage to the bow - the most armoured part of the craft.

It's nice to finally see some Covenant ships again. Nice replica.
