The Trident Corps of Engineers are always in need of more materials to build ships and stations. Therefore they have recommissioned a very old, yet large, mining vessel from the time when jump drives weren't standard issue.
The Borer II-class Miner is a large mining vessel with a powerful refitted salvage array and plenty of storage for all of the ores that the Corps of Engineers are likely to extract. It is decently defended, with a 490,000 terawatt energy shielding system, four anti-missile turrets and two TRT TinyShip turrets.
It also has a powerful jump drive system located in the engine nacelles, which are a relic of a time long forgotten. Nacelles such as those are unnecessary on Trident warships due to jump drive miniaturisation in recent years and the fact that they are an easy target to disable a ship's warp capability, however they have made a resurgence in civilian ships built by Trident.
