    Star Trek: Archer Class .19236

    starmade-screenshot-0032.png
    Ship: Archer Class
    Narrative Universe: Star Trek
    Faction: United Federation of Planets
    Era: Early TOS
    Role: Light Scout

The Archer-class was a type of Federation Starfleet scout vessel in service at least in the 2260s. Archer-class ships were designed to go "very far, very fast, and not be noticed." They go "to the edge of nowhere and peek behind the curtains."

The ships are small and cramped. Of the crew of 14, only the captain and first officer have their own quarters. The remainder of the crew shares 4 single-bed compartments by "hot bunking". The ship is also too small to have a turbolift system, instead crew rely on ladders to travel between decks.

The class was named for the famous 22nd century explorer and the fourth President of the United Federation of Planets, Jonathan Archer of United Earthand the United Federation of Planets. (VAN novel: Harbinger)

Note: The Dimensions of the ship listed at memory Beta does not seem consistent with any illustration I have found. I went with the much larger illustrated scale as it worked best with StarMade's 1m blocks. I still consider this to be a 1:1 build, and semi-canon based on the Vanguard novel series.

I absolutely love this ship (rotating Bussard Collectors *jumps up and down with excitement*). Nothing bad to say about the ship, functions well and looks amazing.

Though one thing I'll nitpick about: The bridge, it's oddly positioned for a Starfleet vessel. Normally it's on top of the saucer, not on the front. I'm probably wrong so please correct me if so.

    Amazing work as always!

Nope, you are correct. I was working from canon blueprints though, and that's where the designers put the bridge. That upper section was full of scanners and weapons systems. Thanks for the great review though.

Oh... and if you like THESE bussards, here's a sneak preview of the Constitution I'm finishing:

This update is amazing! Tons of cool new rail features, and a much more detailed interior.

There is a bug where you'll need to undock and redock some pieces of the ship to get them working properly. Hope this gets patched soon.

Thanks! There is one bit of this ship I'm not happy with yet. The life boat on the port side can only be deployed from the host ship (upper deck port side activator) And I'd really like it to look like a life boat/skiff, not a random chunk o' ship.

I think the bug you mentioned was fixed. I've re-loaded the ship several times recently, and all the bits still work.
This ship is my favorite of all the ships you have built, while its not the most powerful of the fleet, its not the fastest (like it should be, its supposed to be the fastest scout in the entire fleet put an overdrive or something) it is by far the most maneuverable and beautiful looking. You obviously spent time detailing every little bit of it and i love that, i was very disapointed with the lack of detail on other ships, more TOS/23rd era ships pls

Thanks for the review. My next release will be an updated Archer. I'll see if I can jam an overdrive system in there :)
Nice to see you back in the action! Since you mentioned potentially working on the Connie, may I suggest (again, because I'm unsure if you've checked it out) my TOS bussard collectors? (which I based off of your original TOS Connie Design)

There are two versions: Crystal and Light (essentially, the exterior is red crystal or red lights), and as I say on that page people are welcome to use it in any and all builds.

As I said, glad to see you back making ships, and I'm looking forward to your next vessel.

Thanks! And I very well may use your bussard design, or crib it and build on it. Yes, I've got my TOS Constitution floating next to my Archer. The Archer is (at the moment) my test bed where I'm learning to use the new rails and logic. SO... my next release is actually going to be another Archer, this time with logi-mechanically articulated pressure doors, landing gear, rear hatch, and escape pod. (I'm reading the novels that feature this ship as I go along)
    Of great quality, as always.

Nice to see you're back, what can we expect next?

Next up... A near-total rebuild of the TOS series including current blocks, systems and logic. Maybe rail system based lifts? Also corrected proportions on the TOS disk, and improved hull aesthetics on the secondary hull.

Now that we have proper cut/paste abilities, I plan to deconstruct each element and package them separately for your kit-bashing pleasure.

    Primary hull A (Constitution style)
    Primary hull B (Miranda style)
    Secondary hull Forward section
    Secondary hull mid-section Cylinder
    Secondary hull Aft section
    Warp Nacelle (R/L pair)
    Warp Nacelle (midline)

Once I have these elements, I will use them to rapidly construct a new set of Constitution, Miranda, Saladin, and possibly A Federation Class dreadnought.
Another amazing build! I really like what you've done with scaffolds on the interior. Time to take it out for some exploration!

Let me know how she works for you. Don't forget that for planetary excursions, the landing struts can be activated from the engine room.
    Hurray, your back!

I like how this ship looks. You obviously put quite a bit of effort into making it.

    Thank you :)
awesome as usual i have been waiting for the next one of your startrek ships and this is really good its exterior and interior are quite good and you do not often see early TOS era ships so this is quite unique this will look great next to the Saladin class and your other 2 TOS ships keep making these awesome star trek ships

Thanks! Next stop, a re-built TOS Constitution.
