    Description:


    Not to be confused with its lighter cousin, the Hellebarde-B is the latest Light Corvette to come from Riesland's shipyards. Based on data gathered from the Hellebarde, Riesland engineers added a pair of engine nacelles, moved the majority of the point-defense turrets to the ventral section, and added a set of tractor beam turrets and a powerful deck gun for neutralizing fighters, turning the base Hellebarde design into a potent all-rounder.

    The Hellebarde-B's point-defense turrets can swat down a massive swarm of missiles in the blink of an eye. Its powerful broadside lock-on missile launchers can vaporize most smaller ships in an instant, and its armor-piercing main gun is highly effective at punching out a ship's core, especially when the four tractor beam turrets on the engine nacelles - collectively capable of neutralizing three thousand points of thrust - have immobilized the target.

    The ship features retractable landing skids, retractable umbilicals leading to the airlocks on either side of the top-deck superstructure, and retractable boarding ramps. The interior features a bridge, control room and crew quarters for eight. It also has a small troop bay for carrying a special forces squad into combat.

    Thanks to its generous power output and ECM package, it possesses the capability to perma-jam. It also has four slow-charging jump drives.

    It's an awesome ship, hands down. for some reason a chunk never seems to spawn at the front of the ship where the small turrets attach. it's happened with both versions of this ship but not with any other ship. but even with the giant hole, its still an awesome ship

    Huh, that's odd. It's been doing that to me too, lately, with other people's ships. I just tested the blueprint in a fresh install of the game and it spawned correctly.
    Took this ship into an onslaught of pirate ships and came out with nothing but a scratch. This is a tough ship good for almost any scenario. the various styles of turrets aboard really do a great job of point defense and harassing fire.

    The primary missile systems (2) are broadside launch (port and starboard), took me a while to notice but it will still lock onto forward targets and hit them from the flank. The Interior of the ship is rather small but is easy to understand.

    If you like to modify ships this a a good one to acquire for its flat armor and no complex re-styling is required.
