As I was sorting through my old blueprints, I came across a ship that served me for almost 2 years, and dates back to the days when 100 as a server top speed was considered living dangerously, weapons consisted of 3 types of missiles and a single cannon, and tetras and pentas were mythical futuristic concepts.
So, I decided to give her a facelift. The original really bulky design turned into a sleek, well-rounded heavy fighter capable of landing on a planet.
Armed with a heavy machine gun turret (cannon/cannon/overdrive, 1110 DPS), a triple barrel punch-through autocannon (88, 88 and 228 damage, 100% cannon support and effect) and explosive long-range lock-on missiles (4x11000 damage) let the Myrmidon handle most pirates without problems, while it 28000 shield capacity and 4 double-barrel point defense turrets usually keep it safe from return fire. A jammer, 2.1 thrust/mass ratio and a jump drive further enhance survivability.
Not intended for long missions, the ship's interior is quite spartan, featuring an engineeering room, 4 bunk beds and a 2-man cockpit.
Landing capability is ensured by logic-operated landing gear (switch in cockpit) and boarding ramps (switches located next to the doors on each side)
Stats:
As always, a rating would be appreciated, and I'm not rejecting constructive criticism.
