    The Minnow Fighter Interceptor is a lightweight, compact craft that has served in the Legion Navy in one form or another for hundreds of years. Because of its aerodynamic bullet shape, high thrust ratio and maneuvering thrusters, it can outperform many atmospheric craft, the majority of space craft and has even served to provide air support for ground forces. The design features dual gatling auto cannons (1:1:1 Can/Can/Pun, 120dmg vs shields and 180dmg vs structure) and small ion missiles (4:0:1 Mis/Bea/Ion). With the introduction of modular cubic systems the design lost the micro-AMS systems that protected it from small missiles, but gained even more powerful shields (1881 Cap/ 11/s charge) and active radar jamming.

    Older models required a crew of two to operate at peak performance, having a gunner target and operate the missiles and what were originally rows of beam lasers along either side of the craft. The beam lasers, having limited uses with the old power supplies, have been scrapped for more extensive cannons and the role of the missiles largely relegated to special tactics, the computer allowing the pilot to designate a target. With the craft having a 3.8:1 thrust/mass ratio from overdrive-injected (50%) plasma engines, it retains the ability to dictate range against all but the smallest and sleekest fighter craft.

    In addition, the craft has an escape module under the front cockpit which can be used in the event of an emergency. Thankfully, the craft's tough skin and dense systems provide some protection from enemy fighter craft and small turrets.



    I dont remember what inspired this design, I've been playing around with it in various games and personal artwork for years. It's incarnation here is still pretty damn ugly, and yeah I couldnt fit the beam weapons in with everything else. It is great in numbers against other similarly sized craft, and can even take on small corvettes.

    The escape module has no logic attached, so to undock it you'll want to spin around wildly and it should come loose from the craft. The fighter's core is in the ceiling and the module's on the floor.
