KDI-EFSF Thor LRFSV MK1

    KDI-EFSF Thor LRFSV MK1 1.0

Foreword: Due to the huge power capacity compared to the rest of the ship in order to fire medium missiles, it is light on raw defences. But its a sniper type that AI will HOPEFULLY not mess up when flying. It has up to 3 sectors range by default but the Decoys only work for 1.5 sectors. Therefore its highly advised to pair this ship with close range ships. its a FIRE SUPPORT vessel not the whole front line.

The Thor LRFSV (Long Range Fire Support Vessel) is armed with 3 rocket systems, Small Rolling Rail-guns plus a variety of mid to long range turrets.

2xMBExplosive missiles, able to destroy 22r of power capacitors behind standard armour, or almost 1 whole sphere of shield capacitors (25 HP blocks VS a 75 HP block) These can be replaced with Piercing effect in order to cause massive damage to Armour and RP type ships with interior, as interior messes with Non-Piercing/punch missiles

2x2 MBPiercing systems that aim to cause light damage to the surface armour of the ship, to allow a heavier missile to enter.

6x3computer CBExplosive long range cannons. Each one has a slightly different reload for AI firing. It starts as 1 volley but over time each shot is staged by a small amount, allowing it to recalculate its aim between reloads and reduce the chance of an over-penetration.

Turrets: 2x "Crucible" MBPiercing Vertical launch. A number of AMS turrets 2x small CCOverdrive, 2x CCPunch SS Dec Mod turrets, and 4 self sufficient weird beam beam overdrive turrets on the wing top area.

Its shielding is sub optimal at around 300k cap and comparable regen, but its nose is 20m thick of ADV armour plus passive punch and pierce effect to protect it at long range from stray fire. Its a lot of spaced Advanced armour pretty much everywhere but its belly and the engine area. Luckily the 2 heavier turrets can fire below the ship, and the 2 missile turrets have full* 360degree coverage of the ship as long as they are not already occupied.

Ship has interior, small, but there. 3 crew plus a bathroom, and a reactor, airlocks, mini-kitchen, pool table, and missile Autoloader area...

Built as part of Raiben's Ship of the Month thing, Where a ship shell, partially finished, is submitted by a community member and others work on it to make it their own. In this case, Raiben's "Thor" was the one to start it off. Check out SOME of the sister ships here:

very nice job on the shape
Very good looking ship with a good alpha damage bite, and pretty satisfying turret fire. Popped some of my fancy new "hardcore" pirates like pinatas, messed up their puny station, left with just a couple patchable holes, good time

Especially love the missile loading room, nice touch.

Im surprised it managed to survive that encounter, the ship wasnt meant to fight ships at close range as per its awful shields. But that means most ships using pure ion weapons are not nearly as good VS it and its armour.
Turrets likely did most the job, 2 bottom ones are 3000DPS each, the turrets on its back deal 300,000 damage as a pair of rockets, plus the other tiny defence turrets.

Since your pirate force didnt manage to kill a non-frontline ship, perhaps you didnt use enough of them to match its block count, or they have something "wrong" with them that allowed the ship to kill them so "easily"...
