The Griffon-class Light Cruiser is the Ultima's first cruiser, serving as a test bed for what was at the time newer technology, and allowing the Ultima to reliably combat light enemy forces. While old, the Griffon remains a workhorse of the Ultima fleet, often seen accompanying newer ships on patrol. The Griffon features several slide out turrets, 10 AMS turrets, 8 broadside turrets, and berthing for over 20 personnel. For its weapons, it is outfitted with 6 forward-facing anti-missile flak cannons, one quad-barrel CB-Exp cannon, one quad-barrel CB cannon, 18 MB-Ion missiles, and 32 heat-seeking missiles. While aged, the Griffon is still pivotal in defending the Ultima territories it had fought to gain in the first days of the Ultima fleet.
