Introducing the Drake Class Frigate from the Gundam Seed universe.

-This ship is a hand-built mostly-scale model. It is actually a rebuild of the first large ship I ever made. It is full of new rail-based logic including missile-bay doors, an elevator lift system, and a hanger system designed to optimize the storage and launch of mini Moebius armors. As a frigate, this ship is good for those looking to transition from fighters to massive battleships. Enjoy!

Description:
The Drake Class was the Earth Alliance's primary escort ship. Along with the Nelson Class Battleship and the Moebius mobile armor, it made up the backbone of the Earth Alliance's space forces.
Two or three Drake Class ships would escort a single Nelson Class into battle. Upon nearing the battle zone, the Drake Class and Nelson Class would launch their Moebius mobile armors to serve as a screen. The Drake Class itself was never expected to engage enemy capital ships head-on. Instead, it was designed to lob wave after wave of missiles from long range in order to suppress and disrupt enemy formations. This would allow the Nelson Class battleships to charge the enemy line and achieve a breakthrough.
The Drake Class was equipped with 4x modular exterior missile pods and a triple-barreled "ship-killer" missile launcher on each side of the hull. These pods could carry a wide variety of missiles. 3x 75mm Vulcan rotary cannons provided air defense. It could also transport and launch three Moebius mobile armors from an interior hanger. The Drake Class was unique for its time in that it was not equipped with any kind of offensive beam, laser, particle, or linear accelerator cannons. Since it was never designed to dogfight enemy capital ships, it was equipped with minimal armor and protection.
The Drake Class suffered massive losses during the Valentine's War at the hands of ZAFT. ZAFT mobile suits repeatedly swatted the Moebius fighter screens aside with ease and got in close among the Earth Alliance fleets. The 75mm Vulcans on the Drake Class proved unable to punch through the armor of ZAFT mobile suits. In addition, Coordinator pilots, with their superior reflexes and machines, were able to shoot down Earth Alliance missiles, thereby reducing the Drake Class' effectiveness. However, the Drake proved cost-effective when paired with the new Earth Alliance's new Strike Dagger mobile suits, and their production continued well after the fall of Junius Seven.
