What do you do with decommissioned light cruisers? You razee them down and move them to secondary roles. This one has been turned into a troop transport. It takes a lot of power to move large amounts of cruiser armor and weapons around, so this ship has had most of its armor and all its offensive armaments taken off and the hull has been reshaped significantly to accommodate the new interior. It's been given a brand new reactor designed for a corvette, which will be a lot better suited for the less demanding job and significantly cheaper to fuel and maintain in the future, yet its got enough spare capacity to provide power to a small settlement in case of emergencies or blackouts. During the conversion, the reactor was mounted into the hull from the stern which was the only side it fit in through, but it unfortunately left it quite vulnerable with next to nothing between it and the stern wall.

The ship has the capability to transport a company of troops. To achieve this, the ship is crammed with 223 bunks with an option to be installed with more. The ship has enough cargo room to carry the company's equipment and supplies. The ship has very little common space per expected number of troops. So even though the ship can be used as a temporary barracks, its recommended to only do so on a habitable planet or at a space station.

The ship is intended to be crewed by 2 pilots, 2 engineers and a navigator. The captain of the carried company may serve as the captain for the ship. If not, the senior pilot will assume command.
The only armament on the ship are two small turrets mainly intended for planetary missile defense.
