Hello everyone, welcome to the first of my old ship refits after all the new system changes in 0.15.
For the Immortal Class, it wasn't so much a refit, but rather a complete rebuild from the ground up. I immediately realised that my original building philosophy of designing a core-ship and then building a series of other vessels around that was not giving me enough space for customization and uniqueness between the ship types, so I permanently scrapped that idea.
I wanted my new ships to have something more of an interior than my original builds, and whilst this ship is still pretty small compared to what you'd expect from the Borg, I still gave it a somewhat atmospheric small interior.
The new weapons systems I wanted to base on typical Borg stuff, big green lasers and green torpedoes, I stuck mostly to this, but since I want the ships I build to actually be viable and function well in the game too, I had to branch out just a little bit. The ship now features three main weapon systems, a main damage beam that deals rapid-fire damage and is tuned to do a lot more damage to shields than hull, a powerful missile battery that fires 4 homing projectiles up to a 2km range. And finally a secondary missile system that fires a staggering 513 missiles in a heat-seeking, anti-fighter swarm.
The fourth weapon is a stasis beam sub-system. I still have no idea of the math behind these things or how effective they really are, but I thought it was a neat experiment. So I stuck one on the ship to see how it will turn out - which if anyone decides to try out, shooting me some feedback on it's effectiveness and usefulness would be awesome.
I also created three new weapons turrets for use with the Immortal, a beam, a missile, and a cannon. Giving the ship full coverage on the weapons front. The Immortal Class MK II also still features it's proprietary ablative armour tech, and is fitted with all new designs on the ablative armour plates, sandwiched between the inner and outer hulls, these new designs are a huge amount more powerful than their predecessors and can tank an enormous amount of damage whilst drawing it away from the main body of the ship and protecting the internal systems, each plate individually regenerating it's shields separate from each other and the main ship, making this lumbering beast extremely difficult to penetrate.
On the aesthetics front, well, there really wasn't anything on the first version, so I created a new design from the ground up. Originally I wanted to keep the sleek sort of frame wrapping around the corners and edges as you see somewhat on the MK I, but I scrapped that idea after a couple of tries. Instead I went for my usual Borg style greebling on the main hull, and attached some cool brown armour to the corners. I really really like how it turned out, the different colour being a stark contrast to the basic greys and blacks you see on typical Borg ships. I based the hull loosely on a design from the Borg Hypercube, a 4-dimensional ship from an alternate future that we think could only exist within their transwarp conduits.
Have some sats.

There will almost definitely be a MK III refit as the game systems continue to evolve, but until then, I am very happy now with the new and improved Immortal Class.
Please remember most importantly, that this fleet I'm creating is for my own personal interpretation of a Borg Collective, and not meant to be 100% canon to the Star Trek series/movies in terms of looks, ship functionality and size - though I will aim to be accurate enough for them to be unmistakably Borg.
Thanks for reading my wall of text as always! Please take a look at my thread over on the forums to check on my future plans and current status! ^^
Some pictures!
My atttempt at a Borg interior and alcove.
The early edition of my final hull armour choice.
My favourite shot of the redesign, the slanting armour gives the optical illusion that the sides are pinching in - in fact, the ship is perfectly square.
The completed Immortal Class MK II - and yes, I restarted my universe 12 times to get that green background! xD
