My first real capital size ship is finally finished and available for all you Borg fans to play with!
The Dominance Class was built around the concept of a carrier vessel for smaller drone fighters, I wanted to incorporate some more interesting ship types into my Borg builds - even though you don't really see this kind of vessel in canon Borg.
Equipped with 80 individual fighters docked in an internal hangar, all of which can be AI controlled, as well as 32 powerful multi-weapon turrets on the outer hull, this Hiveship can overwhelm almost any foe by it's ability to field sheer numbers of separate guns alone.
In addition to it's passive firepower, the Dominance class sports a massive main array of AMC batteries that will reduce anything short of a well-shielded capital ship to dust within seconds if a line of fire is achieved. It also features a heavy duty salvo of homing missiles to support the guns after shield's have been penetrated. There are also secondary AMC and Missile arrays on both sides and rear-facing that can be separately controlled by other crew members - effectively quadrupling the Hiveship's firing arc, as well as allowing independent targeting. These auxiliary guns will be redesigned in the Mark II version, however.
The ship also features a set of front mounted, medium sized array of Salvage Cannons with an extremely quick harvesting speed.
Here are some stats.

As you can see, it's a pretty damn expensive ship, considering it's not even close to the biggest builds I have planned out! Mostly though the price comes from the obscene amounts of Hardened Hull I use on the outside, and also on the inside for decoration. Which brings us onto the aesthetics of the Dominance Class, for this ship, I pulled my inspiration from the Borg Tactical Cube armour, fixed onto the side of a massive carrier/mobile space station style ship. In particular, the turrets were a big questionable feature in regards to how they'd fit in with the general look of a Borg Cube, clearly, you can't just stick massive guns onto the side. After looking at the work done on Gaeasson's version of the Enterprise A, his turrets are exactly the kind of approach I needed to take. So with that in mind, I built the weapons platforms I'm currently using, and designed them in such a way that not only would they sit neatly and perfectly into hull recesses, but also so that when viewed at rest, they would add their own design to the general Borg architecture of the surrounding hull, an experiment which I thought worked out extremely well.
Looking back and thinking about anything I would have done differently, I probably would have made the armour a couple layers thicker, to give the cube more depth. The rough style greebling on the hull gives an optical illusion of greater depth than there actually is, so it didn't turn out too badly in the end. I'd also probably enlarge the hangar entrances slightly and perhaps add a smaller turret type in addition to the ones it currently uses. Apart from these minor factors, I am very happy with how the Dominance turned out aesthetically, and won't be making many changes to the appearance for the MK II refit.
Please remember most importantly, that this fleet I'm creating is for my own personal interpretation of a Borg Collective, and not meant to be 100% canon to the Star Trek series/movies in terms of looks, ship functionality and size - though I will aim to be accurate enough for them to be unmistakably Borg.
Thanks for reading my wall of text as always! Please take a look at my thread over on the forums to check on my future plans and current status! ^^ I've also added a poll where you can vote on which Borg ship I build next! The poll will close on 7/6/14.
Here, have some pictures!
Construction begins, the hangar taking shape around the inner core.
The internal hangar has it's docking spires and pilot walkways constructed.
Salvage Cannons and the main missile batteries being bolted onto the superstructure.
First face of the armour fitted.
The completed Dominance Class MK I.
Some brave pirates commandeered one of my smaller Borg vessels, promptly got swarmed by AI fighters and battered with turrets. Resistance, is futile...
