    The original Geoma-class freighter was part of the original 2nd Generation Robin Industrial Shipyards line-up. However, it, along with most ships and mechs of that line, were ultimately recalled due to safety concerns regarding their on-board seat belts systems (honest!). Now, at long last, the Mk2, 3rd Generation version is here. Is it better than the old one? Well…it’s got more sparkly lights, so that’s something :D

    The new Geoma Mk2 aims to increase the viability of freighters as an essential components for factions and fleets. It’s primary power comes from its FOUR jump-drive systems, allowing for jumps of up to 32 SECTORS in one go. Although each takes just under 20 seconds to charge, it still means that the far reaches of space are only 80 seconds away. A Radar-jammer stealth system, which allows for a safer journey through potentially hostile sectors. Point-Defences are provided by 8 ‘Flatbed’ Type Heat-seeking Turrets, while the ship itself possesses a pair of 100% ionised lock-on missiles.

    The unique design of the ship means that half of the cargo doors are on the side, and half of them on the underside. This allows for both horizontal and vertical deployment of assets (although the vertical chutes are considerably small and can only fit extremely small craft).

    It’s default carrying load includes 8 cargo containers and 6 ‘Supobe’ pods (cargo variant), in addition to 2 Hound Mk3 Mechs. This load-out is completely customisable to one’s need. Hence, the utility of this ship can also be extended to the role of Troop/Mech-loading deployment craft (capable of landing on a planet directly, or deploying shock troopers through the pods), as well as Blockade Runner and Long-Range extraction craft.

    Logic landing gear and aft gravity-loading chutes are included, as well as on-board storage compartments and medical cabinets. The entire interior of the ship is inter-connected, and compact. As this ship is heavily utilitarian, the interior is none-the-less minimum. Emergency Extraction Logistics (EEL) Docks are available on each side of the ship (port/starboard ones near aft airlocks), with two on the bottom-side near the engines.
