Will it even be abandoned?

Other attempts of "Minecraft in space", namely Blockade Runner (also Java+LWJGL) got abandoned. I wouldn't want to see such thing happening there...



Anyway, I'll be buying StarMade at 15th (now I'm completely broken), because it is damn good game!

You are incorrect about the java/LWJGL thing.

The websites FAQ says the following:

What engine does Blockade Runner use?

Blockade Runner is being built from scratch using a custom engine coded in C#, using XNA only as a rendering platform.



But aside from that, I hope it won\'t happen either.

Blockaderunner isnt abandoned, but their developers are unfortunatly pretty incompetent. Still hope they get it rolling in any near future.

The blockade runner devs are rewriting the netcode from scratch, so even if there doesn\'t seem to be anything going on, there is progress being made behind the scenes.
