I dual boot my pc between ubuntu 12.04(linux) and windows vista. I have been playing starmade on ubuntu for 2 days with only a few problems. Some lag on planets and generated stations. So I decide to switch to windows boot with better graphics drivers and see if that helps. Only when I load up starmade it says, 'Your card does not have shader 1.2 opengl' ????? I been playing fine on linux and I can't play the same game on windows, what estranged mirror universe have I fallen into? Let me phone Lucy and see if it just hit absolute zero in hell! lol.

Theres nothing to help, I just have a really old graphics card running on really old laptop! I just wiki\'ed the answer to why this is myself. It seems Linux drivers tend to support a slightly higher opengl version than their windows counter parts. Im using an mobile Intel 960 graphics card.

Intel doesn\'t much care about supporting OpenGL for their graphics cards chipsets.

Intel is firmly in bed with microsoft. All microsoft games use Directx. I am certain that Micro$haft has let them know, in no uncertain terms, that if they support a competing standard (OpenGL) they are truly up the proverbial stream of fecal matter without a propulsive method.

I never buy anything proprietary. competition made america great (until we forgot how, we are a joke now) So I support competitive products. Hasn\'t steered me wrong yet.
