When will the free version of Starmade be discontinued

Title says all, when will the free version of Starmade you can get from this website stop getting updates?

It will not be discontinued, but it will be turned into a "demo" of the game. I'm not sure if it's a stripped down version of the game, just an older version, or one with a time limit (like Evochron Mercenary demo), I'm just pretty sure it will be limited

I think they will add a new launcher that only people that bought the game can use and the old launcher will stop receiving updates.

I know this isn't polite nor is it really Schema's style but I really really hope we don't get some bullshit DRM.
