    What would you most like to hear is coming next in Starmade? Personally, after the massive mechanics changes in this update, I'd like to see tons more aesthetic stuff - blocks that emit smoke, blocks that leave linear "ion trails", etc... Or possibly a patch that adds signs. That would be good.

    Besides obvious stuff like the new weapons/tweaked balance & game optimization...

    • More AI fleet options, like an option for AI ships to return to it's initial position when done aggroing.
    • Turrets return to rest/initial docking position 10 seconds or so when out of aggro mode.
    • Separate keys for turret targeting and scan an entity (currently F). If my turrets are set to selected target, I don't always want to attack every unknown entity I want info on. Also, queuing up targets with the turret targeting key w/shift clicking.
    • Ability to toggle turrets between selected target/any in the structure menu
    • Detailed faction log, records things like who is attacking your ships and vice versa, kills, record who is flying into your home base territory. This would be nice to see what's been going on when you're offline or have AI fleets in another sector you can't monitor.
    • Ability to bind blueprint to ship core. Shop (or a new shipyard structure?) service to restore ship to blueprint specifications. Needs to be some kind of check on ship restoration, so it doesn't happen instantly. Maybe the blocks can be restored slowly, or there cannot be any hostile ships within a few sectors.

    Along with the new epic weapon systems and the logic blocks I feel like having
    • a way to animate parts of a ship (I.e. make it move, like a door or something) would be fun.
    • Modular drone control panels, possibly the ability to construct drones aboard the ship using stored blocks (and a blueprint).
    • MOAR decorative blocks.

    I'd absolutely love to make a charge animation for a giant doomsday weapon, lights blinking into existance, massive tesla coils being deployed from the innards of the ship and the obvious deflagration that would accompany everything. Limiting the range of the effects to the size of the weapon could be a way of preventing griefing.

    Wedges for every block please, especially lights, can't count the amount of times a design has gone to the trash can just because you can only get wedges for a very select few blocks.

    Sure it will, if you want every light source to be blue :)

    We need wedges for every block, or every light source block at least.

    I would like what OP said, however I'd like a development to the LOGIC system as I've taken a liking to it. Signs are overdue, I have a control room of LOGIC activators and I can't see what's what.

    However, I think defensive blocks are planeed for the next update.

    More variety of automatically generated structures would be amazing. For example:
    • NPC shops should be randomly generated space stations made from certain parts linked together, for example a space station would have a main centre area, with a hangar bay on the edge and some other rooms. The random generation means they can vary in size.
    • The same goes for abandoned space stations; make it so that there are a variety of "modules" that are linked together.
    • Bigger and smaller planets, with different biomes on each side. But, only put a set of similar biomes on one planet, so each planet will still have something different.

    This can be done already with the logic blocks as I have done so and built a ship repair dock... I just don't know yet how to keep to repairs lasers firing non stop not too god with not/and/or/gates but learning at the most I can make the repair lasers fire on a timed interval but it doesn't continue and stops after about 10 pulses.
    Next Update should be focused on AI and NPC's, a better waypoint/nav system (ability to create multiple waypoints (sectcor to sector) not just direct paths) and point of interest markers as well as labels for walls and blocks. And a simple notepad menu or system
    Basic AI ship commands: go , escort target, return to, attack, blockade (tries to position itself between escorted target and nearest enemy when escort selected if no escort selected will blockade sector "X" from entry, and lastly patrol (starting sector "X" to waypoint a,b,c,d...ending at sector "X") All commands should be able to be grouped and listed per vessel; basically a programmable autopilot you can list all actions to be taken during the next launch sequence...

    This code will put selected ship into a patrol of sectors 222-223-224-then circle back 234-233-232-222 and repeat. *Note this is not a good code as I'm rushing through typing this and haven't practiced Lua in "floating deity in the sky" knows how long :P

    This would not be seen by players and is just an example of how simple command can be when manually creating them non LUA users would only have to select the actions they want preformed from a list and what order to do them in and click save command (LUA coding option should be available to all). Commands should be automatically transferred to all ships of a wing and ships could be set to have individual commands. Command sets should also be saved into a command catalog. Think ComputerCraft imagine the new forums and mods we will have just on new scripts for AI commands!!! XD

    This is all I think we need to be added to keep us happy for a long while and give devs much time to focus on life and other things as this shouldn't be to hard at all to add into the current games coding.

    Economy improvement so that gathering resources is meaningfull, and its harder to build hudge ships with limited resources.

    Being able to make hulls and such out of ore. So far I'm pretty sure they come out of inter-dimensional portals.
    Explains their stocks in single player. I guess stations (those empty ones. Pirate stations are made from pure flashy, found on ekaf 9) come out of them to.

    whiterhino16 Hulls can already be manufactured from factories. All you need is a recipe, and the ingredients (most of the time includes ores).

    I'd also would like to see the new economy system developed, a shipyard, and a way to restrict people from blueprinting your ships to certain people. The reason for the third is I think it would be neat to sell certain designs, kinda like being a car company to sell certain designs and not to have to worry as much about blueprint theft, plus it'd give non-factioned players another way to interact on servers as much as players in factions.

    Desertwolf, I've went though the recipes (and wasted 10000 credits) looking for them, the only ones that look like them are "compress hull (converts light hull) and expand hulls.

    Also, I forgot to mention something like fire said, which would be a transmitter block. When you arrive in the sector it transmits something to you. You can also choose a colour. (from red, blue green) When you adjust a sign message, it should be transmitted to admins. That way we don't get somebody spamming the spawn with "TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL"

    More mechanics improvements like AI and such, all that good jazz.

    Also I can't wait for the mine layer. Sounds like such a cool weapon.

    As a builder, I'm satisfied with all the new aesthetics for now. Let's give the decorative blocks a break for now and get some more delicious mechanics in.
