I came across a few highly share-worthy scenes today.
First, I was looking around in the star-map of my singleplayer universe, when I noticed a binary system in which one of the stars was red... now how nice is that! I also never encountered a system with such a brightly lit nebular background - makes me wonder whether real celestial skyscapes might look like this within young star systems where the stellar wind didn't yet do much in blowing away the cloud from which the central star originally formed. Also, the asteroids create a pleasingly bizarre contrast with the light background:
Here's a look around a StarMade equivalent of a "blue giant" (Blue giant - Wikipedia) seen with the Bloom Effect turned on:
Here's another binary system with one of the stars strangely lit by the other, and offset from the system's center to an unusual degree:
And then this happened... The story is that I'm planning to build a ~400 meter tall animatronic guitar player with a bare, 50 meter tall skull for a head. I had to import a 3D model of a human skull with SMEdit into an older version of StarMade, which I quickly downloaded for this purpose, and deleted the default Isanths, but didn't mess with the default configs (so the enemy-usability of my blueprints was left turned on). I accidentally fired at a shop, and the next second I looked the other way and saw a bunch of giant skulls floating there, some slowly rotating and some jumping around. - No weapons or anything, but still the scariest Trading Guild fleet I ever had to deal with:
