Were off to outer space, to save the human race!

From the legendary anime Star Blazers comes the EDF Arione Frigate. Humanity battles for survival against the infamous Gamalons who threaten to extinguish all life on earth with their deadly radiation bombs.

The Arione features the new Wave Motion engine, three light pulse cannons, twelve light forward facing torpedoes, and a heavy spinal mounted shock cannon. She's the perfect escort to screen earth convorys and formations as well as scout ahead for Gamalons.

With the completion of the EDF frigate followed by a second ship in the same style I have decided to explore this style of ships further by doing some non-Starblazer ships.

The first of my new collection is Britannia's Orion Class Heavy Cruiser. Designed as a heavy warship, the Orion represents Britannia's commitment to space domination. With ships such as this at their Majesties command, other star nations must tread carefully. The Orion is a conservative design typical of her nation. She features a high curved hull which offers superior shot deflection, in addition to two large torpedo bulges running her sides. While Britannia does not armor her warships as the same degree as the People's Patriotic Navy the Orion none the less contains many air tight self contained compartments to mitigate damage. Her primary armament is eight heavy shock cannons in four armored turrets. She also presents an eighteen gun broadside that is the envy of many nations. Forward and aft torpedoes round out her offensive armament. While not the fastest vessel in space, most ships must give way before her or risk sinking.
