Weird Planets

Every planet I approach looks like a flaming asteroid as I get close. I tried about 5 different planets all with different colour atmospheres from a distance, as I got close, giant flaming ball of death. I'm about to try to land on one. Am I missing something? The screenshot is below.

Planets were changed from oreos into dodecahedrons several months ago

What you are looking at in that pic is the planet's mantle.

Yup, looks like the planet hasn't rendered in yet or the server hasn't generated it yet. It's worth just floating around for a little while.

 

[Spruce Tree]

The planet hasn't loaded yet. Fly around it and it should load.
