Weapons mounted in different directions

I've found that amc's, salvage beams, and astro technobeams won't fire properly when mounted in a direction other than forward. For example, I have a number of salvage beams pointed down and salvage computer mounted in the same facing direction. If I try to fire the beams, only one actually fires. I've tried firing from the core and salvage computer and got the same results. If I open the weapon tab and select the computer it says there are 138 groups.
