Flare gun / Target painter combo
Two versions, one for astronaut mode and another that's ship mountable.
Either one shoots a single simple projectile that attaches to the first thing it hits. The projectile produces a bright light that lasts about 1 minute or until you fire another. AI will track the painted target and attack if hostile. Give the ship mounted version to an AI and it will paint w/e it targets which will make other AI track the same target. If you are mining it can help light up your area to find valuable ores. If building it would allow you to see in darker regions of your structure. In combat it could make killing turrets much easier.
AI target priority should be Painted > Targeted by user > Hostile. This would allow you to keep a target but divert your AI controlled ships else where. Painting a friendly or neutral will have little effect as the AI will keep looking for valid targets. AI already attack targeted neutrals.
