I think it is kindof dumb that an extremly small ship can go just as fast (or faster) than a large ship. So why not add a warp drive! It would need one "warp core," as well as warp thrusters. It would let a ship go very fast, but would use up a lot of power. The speed increase would be calculated something like this:
(n = base speed, t = warp thrusters)
n*(((t/5)*0.01)+1)
basically, this means that for every 5 warp thrusters your speed will be increased by 1%. This means that you need 500 warp thrusters to go 2x the normal speed. The warp core and warp thrusters would cost a lot, so you would need a lot of money to upgrade your ship with it. Why would you do that unless it was on a large ship? how could you fit enough warp thusters on a ship unless it was a large ship?
