That\'s why you run out of memory.
How to fix it;
-Delete everything that says \"ai_ship\" in Starmade\'s server_database directory, and again one folder deeper, in the DATA directory. This alone is enough to fix the game for a while, but you may have to keep repeating it daily.
-In-game, go to the blueprints menu\'s admin tab, and un-check \"enemy\" and \"others\" from any big blueprints; If only small traders and pirates spawn, they don\'t ruin your performance so much.
Or, un-check those on all blueprints, so no npc ships will spawn at all.

This happens in multiplayer as well, on servers that have AI spawning turned off, so I don\'t think that\'s all there is to it.

Maybe a multiplayer server is getting swarmed by npcs all the same?
Plus all the players.
I hear they often have to clean their databases as well.
