I was never good at big things. So I wanted to build something bigger than I have ever built.
But of course, I knew that on my own, I would never be able to finish it.

    Project: Spearhead Space Capital City
    Current Builders: Zeno9141, Esarai
    Approx. Current size: 400^3 meters
    Est. Final size: 1000x400x1000 meters

    Screenshots:

(oh god the glass was a pain)

It's planned to be a city in space. A big city. With city centre, suburbs, and industrial districts.

    And believe me.

It lags the hell out of almost anything when fully rendered.

-Do note this is a WIP and is still very incomplete, but expect some more work to be done soon.-

Copy&paste would only work on 2 sides, and since it doesn't interact with symetry yet, symetry is the better choice.
(dividing your work by a littlebit less than 8/6th vs. dividing your work by 8)

    Our* pain. :p

@Esarai did about half of the glass.
    I complement both of you.
I think you know how much of a pita the cow-pusher of this train was:

Oh man, building triangles in this game is BRUTAL.

I like the idea of a colony ship/floating arcology, you also could save the hollow shell and use that for arena tournaments.

Thank you all, both for all the love and suggestions. Making it an arena would be interesting :0

Though extremely laggy. I get only 6 fps when having it rendered whole D:

    Zeno is happy :D

A little question to all of you. I used both ice crystal and the new orange lights on the side ring, and I want to pick one of them. Which one should we go for?

It looks great with the crystal at the corners and the orange in the middle :P

indeed, there is no reason to arbitrarily choose one to use, with such a large structure, both can be just as good, and give a better overall sense of scale.

    Both it is, then.

I have another dilemma, it's the fact I made the armor plating a tad too green, which -I think- doesn't really work well with the lights and other colors in terms of contrast.

So I'll go with white, and a color of striping.

I'll need opinions on which color to use for the stripes. Because I'm totally not good at deciding on those things.

    GOOD :D

well the green actually looks good in my eyes (even though they are artificial and Im looking through googles).
And the green also kinda resemblance you :P
But yeah, maybe white hull with a bit of green? or the other way around?

Just my suggestion, no need to do it this way if you dont like it

The green does resemble me, though it does not work well with all the other colors I use. which are mostly quite low in contrast, with the armor plating popping up visually above all else.

I had thought of doing a striping like on one of my yachts, and I think I might actually make it work.

I have a love/hate relationship with your ships style because they're so similar to mine, down to the color scheme. In other words, loving your work.

    Progress! Yays!

Opinions are most certainly appreciated. :3

EDIT: I also have been thinking of cutting the pyramids' tops off around the grey line, and Esarai suggested we'd fill that in with all sorts of fancy mechanical details.
