A thing i'm doing for some of my own lore.

The Zealot Fighter-Bomber is a innovation in itself for the UTCUSN. Carrying dual quad-barreled heavy 50mm cannons and two Zeus ship to ship missiles.
The Zealot also boasts 2 crew, and a jump-drive.

Zephyr-Class
The Zephyr-class is the oldest ship class in service with the UTCUSN. It's hull was designed before shielding technology was common or even useful, it's reactors are old, very old. They are MK4 Brayton-Cycle fission generators using Plutonium as fuel. That is, not to say, that the Zephyr-class has not been updated. The class sports a powerful shielding array and heavy ion cannons, and 60 high-explosive tipped ship-to-ship missiles capable of causing utter destruction across long ranges.
However, due to the sheer number of missiles on such a small vessel, most of the Zephyr-class's internal space is taken up by missile storage, leaving barely enough room for 12 crew. Four actual crew, and eight marines. The ship also sports dual shuttle docking bays, carrying two shuttles to assist in boarding operations.
The hull has 2m thick armor.
