The United Colonial Corps (UCC) is the military branch of the United Colonial Systems (UCS) a conglomerate company founded to colonize the vastness of space.

Here at the UCC we spare no expense when building ships, except for maybe some luxuries but we build warships not cruise ships. These are not your budget ships and all feature reinforced hulls and typically several layers thick, multiple armaments, high powered engines and extremely powerful reactor cores.

The unusually high levels of \"alarm urine\" being produced by our nerve-stapled sales assessment drones have nothing to do with the surprise arrival of an entire fleet of well-made, aesthetically unified warships.

Nope. Nothing to do with it at all.

    The FTR1-202-1A2 Sparrow (Light Fighter)

The Sparrow was custom built to be a support fighter for light capital ships that are not big enough to carry regular sized fighter/interceptors. The A2 was refit with a more capable reactor that doesn\'t fatigue under engine load only.

    Mass: 20.2
    Length: 12m
    Height: 6m
    ?Width: 12m
    Thrust: 63.7
    Power: Standard
    E/Sec: 1823.9
    Shields: 7439
    S/Sec: 481

Armaments: 4 Linear AMC cannons @ 71.6 damage

    The FTR2-345-1A3 Kwanart Interceptor

The Kwanart is the oldest design in our records. It\'s not the fastest fighter with the most fire power but it has the benefit of nearly all systems being internal and protected from damage. The A2 refit moved the cockpit rearward, and the A3 refit increased the thrust. This design of cockpit typical requires the pilot to carry a personal gravity module to gain access to it. (ie: drop a gravity module to align yourself, pick it back up and jump in).

    Mass: 33.8
    Length: 14m
    Height: 8m
    ?Width: 16m
    Thrust: 79.9
    Power: Standard
    E/Sec: 3640.3
    Shields: 5944
    S/Sec: 409

Armaments: A single AMC cannon @ 175.3 damage

The FTR3-312-1A1 Lark (Long Range Scout Fighter)

The Lark, Long Range Scout Fighter was originally designed as the UCCs main assault fighter but it seemed more suited for scouting missions as the large rear facing cockpit could hold more provisions for long journeys but provided a potential weak point for dogfights.

    Mass: 31.2
    Length: 12m
    Height: 8m
    Width: 16m
    Thrust: 79.9
    Power: Standard
    E/Sec: 3203.7
    Shields: 9593
    S/Sec: 578

Armaments: Two Independent SD-KB Missile Tubes @ 100 Damage and four Linear AMC cannons @ 71.6 x2 damage and 66.9 x2 damage

The FTR3-312-1A2 Lark (Primary Assault Fighter)

The Lark A2 was refit with new power systems and double the firepower of the A1 thanks to the removal of the rear compartment. This makes it much more suited for short range combat as the added guns and shields increase survivability. It\'s a little less maneuverable over it\'s A1 brother due to the increase in mass though so some pilots opt to removing the added guns for turning speed.

    Mass: 36.4
    Length: 14m
    Height: 8m
    Width: 16m
    Thrust: 79.9
    Power: Standard
    E/Sec: 3798
    Shields: 11240
    S/Sec: 648

Armaments: Two Independent SD-KB Missile Tubes @ 179.2 Damage and eight Linear AMC cannons @ 71.6 x4 damage and 66.9 x4 damage

I\'ve been feeling very un-inspired and un-motivated over the last few weeks so work on new ships has been slow but I\'ve started my destroyer.

Here you can see the size comparison to my frigate and the method to my madness. I am not artistic so I design my ships from the inside out instead of trying to pack internals into and artistically crafted hull (nothing wrong with that method but my brain doesn\'t work that way) This will produce bulky ships with detailed interiors that might actually resemble a real space faring ship... at least if I can think of enough stuff to pack in. This ship has three main decks and four hallways to traverse them. The downside to my method is I am having trouble thinking of how to make the next ships in line not just be bigger versions of the smaller ones.

The weapons for this ship were designed even before the keel was laid instead of being mostly an after thought so it will pack significant firepower. Six quad linear AMC batteries each dealing just over 400 damage a piece (24 cannons). I had to lay armor around earlier then I had intended and dump huge cubes of shields because pirates kept breaking my systems

Here you can see the paths that will lead to the airlocks and the rear airlock is in place, real ships must have real working airlocks and not just doors into space. I\'ve also started to shape the nose and the floors are laid for the crew quarters that line the second deck. Mess hall and kitchen will also be on the second deck as well as bridge and captains quarters, medical bay on the lower deck. I\'m currently drawing a blank on what to do with the rest of the open space, but some will be officer quarters and storage spaces and I need to jam missiles in here somewhere.

I\'ve updated the the Sparrow to to have the core rearward of the cockpit for better docking.

    Sparrow A2:
    http://star-made.org/node/11536

I\'ve also finally got downloads for all three variants of the Lark including the A3 Carrier version which is slightly heavier but has 4 meters less width, the same firepower and I think slightly more shields than the A2.

    The FTR5-1298-1A1 Condor Gunship

The Condor Gunship sure is an ugly bird but she packs a lot of firepower for a small package. The Condor is primarily used as a patrol ship and when show of force may be needed (uppity civilians) but is poorly suited for fleet operations due to is poor armor, shields and maneuverability.

Two Linear AMC cannons @ 126.5 damage
    Four Standard L2 Turrets @ 110.3 damage
    One L0 Light Turret @ 83.9 damage

This destroyer is turned out much bigger than I had originally anticipated, that\'s what I get for going in with no plan, but I\'m fairly happy with the structure so far. I hope to have a few more ships uploaded before I leave for the weekend, perhaps my corvette, gunboat, and frigate but I need to settle on a naming convention first.

Determining the optimal size for a turret. I then use the size of the base in the turret name, this one is an L15-5 Deckgun

    Laying down the belly missiles

The front of the ship is 100% shaped but sadly the internals are only like 15% done so far...

The destroyer is currently carrying two of my big L15-5 Duel Quad Deckguns on it\'s belly, one of which is capable of full 360 coverage. The top turret will be custom built and may feature a triple barrel, I\'m not sure yet and I probably won\'t build that until the rest of the ship is done. There will, of course, be many smaller point defense turrets here and there, I already have two L0 and L1 mounts on the bottom and there will be at least 8 L4-2/L5-2 turret mounts on the \"wing\" (I can\'t remember how big they need to be)

After this ship is done I will probably focus more on the UCS ships, but I do intend on building at least a battleship and carrier. I may even add a cruiser to my shipline, that should be about the size of a battleship but focus more on missiles than cannons.

    The LC-1342-A1 Stiletto Corvette

There is not much to say about the Stiletto Corvette, it\'s only slightly larger than a Condor gunship but it\'s heavier armor rating classifies it as a Light Capital Class and not a fighter. The Stiletto carries two L3-1 Twin Barrel Deckguns which pack more punch than the condors four L2-1 turrets but it only carries two Linear AMC batteris versus the Condors four.

    Mass: 134.2

    The LC-4400-A3 Dagger Gunboat

The Dagger Gunboat is a very capable little ship, it\'s equipped with 3 L4-1 Twin Barrel Deckguns, Four Linear AMC Batteries and twin SD-BB Missile Tubes. The Dagger was one of the first Light Capital ships to fly out of our shipyards and thus has seen several refits. The A3 model has a longer neck more firepower and shields and reinforced turret mounts over the A1 version.

    Mass: 440.0

    The LC-30475-A2 Longsword Frigate

The Longsword is currently the pride of the UCC fleet (at least until the destroyer leaves dry dock), she packs a punch and is capable of going toe to toe against ships quite a bit larger than herself. This flying fortress features four L4-1 Twin Barrel Turrets (the full size ones not the smaller deck guns) two low profile deck guns on the belly and a large main cannon on the top. There is also a small docking port designed to carry a single Sparrow but it should also be able to handle a Lark A3. The A2 refit added eight more linear AMC batteries more than doubling it\'s effective firepower

    Crew accommodations:

Six of these 4x4 crew quarters line the lower deck. The officers quarters is on the second deck but they only have to share with one other officer in the same space.

    The Kitchen

    The Galley

    Captains quarters.

    Other Features:

While not large enough to park any ships the cargo bay is more than capable of storing all the necessities for extended trips into deep space

On board medical facilities. The Longsword is a more capable support ship with it\'s own medical bay it can offer aid to where ever it is needed.

The observation deck is empty but has the best view on the ship. It can however be converted into a mission specific room if the need arises. The rear airlock is also located here as the only way to access the docking pad but it does require a little space walk around the tower. Not for the faint of heart... but if you do have fainthearted marines than I wouldn\'t want to be your sky marshal.

    The Command Deck

The Main bridge is the nerve center of the ship, although all ship operations can be performed from the computer core if the bridge is lost in a fire fight. It has stations for monitoring communications, sensor data, shields, and all the ships weapons

    6 Linear AMC Batteries @ 177.1 dmg
    4 L4-1 Twin Barrel Turrets @ 178.9 dmg x2
    ?6 SD-BB Missile Tubes @ 361.9 dmg
    Low Profile Belly ?Deckgun #1 @ 162.0 dmg x2
    Low Profile Belly Deckgun #2 @ 160.0 dmg x2
    Main Deckgun @ 202.4 dmg x2

Yeah I wanted to get as much done before I head to the shore for the weekend. I got all my UCC ships up but the unnamed scout and the Kwanart but I don\'t see any demand for them. The scout was originally my \"heavy fighter\" but it has a severe lack of armaments over a Lark A2/A3 so all it\'s got is it\'s good looks and armor. If somebody wants it specifically I\'ll upload it. The Kwanart was only built because that\'s the design I\'ve used since I got into designing my own fleet when I was a kid, all my other designs were based of Star Trek ships so I scrapped them. The \"Fubar\" was the only other ship I had designed previously but I only kept the internals of that ship for the creation of the Longsword.

I will have to spend more time planning out my next ships because the just jump in method I used for the destroyer isn\'t the best. I have so much empty space that I do not know what to do with yet and I don\'t want to just fill it all with shields. Work on that ship is still slow, I had hoped to get it done before the weekend but that wont happen. It\'s now loaded with turrets and all of the external hull but the top and tower is done. Today I finished the crew, officer, and captains quarters, galley and mess hall. The entire lower deck is empty but the 5 airlocks and I have a ton of open space yet in the \"wings\"
