We have already - Turret docks :P But you need a core for it and they have not only Yaw, but Pitch too and can\'t be controlled remotly.



Do you copy+paste Space Engineers? :D



More seriously:

• I would make a ship with rotating hull. No more core drilling without having to kill a whole circle on this hull.
• And I would put the core on a rotor and that rotor on another one, so that you always have to re-aim for it.
• Or at least would make turrets rotate to make them harder to hit and the turret from front/back exchange each half round, so that you have to kill all to get a open spot.
