So, I've been making various turrets of different configurations, testing them out from my station on a random pirate isinth pull... and well, apart from the bobby moving the turret like a spaz, it seems to aim, and shoot stuff.
Then I come across this black and red pirate station, with many red lights, and pylons with these 'ball turrets' inside the pylons, shooting tons of beams out at me. Crazy spew.
So, I blow up some, and then inch in to a safe spot, and get out and take a look at how these suckers were made.
I AM SO BAFFLED.
They don't even appear to be attached to anything! They 'hover' over some odd single block, like they are locked in some magnetic locking system... yet are able to turn in every direction, and shoot anywhere (given the station structure is not in its way).
My question is ... uh ... what? How is this possible. All the turrets I have been building need at least 2 ship cores (one being a neck piece). How or what is this magnetic-turret-axis-docking-thingy?
