I\'m definitely looking forward to the hammerhead! It\'ll be interesting to see how the long tail comes out in ship form. lol I\'d imagine it as some kind of super-heavy bomber possibly frigate sized? Just an idea. The word hammerhead sounds very bomber-ish to me. At any rate i digress...

Would you be offended if I took the idea of using animals and making ships from them? I\'ll leave the sharks to you as your pretty good at em lol

By all means, go for it! I claim no patents on the inspiration for my ships, and I\'d love to see someone else\'s take on these types of designs. I\'ll have to keep an eye out for your work. :) And I\'ll definetly keep working with sharks, but if you get a great idea for a shark-based ship, don\'t feel hesitant to build it.

In order to keep them up to date with our newer fleet vessels, the Mako and Bull corvettes have been repainted in the new TDIS scheme and given a few improvements so they fit better within our growing catalogue of warships. I gladly introduce the Mark 2 variants of these vessels.

    TD-C-5 Mk2 Mako Class Corvette

The Mako Mk2 features, in addition to the new paint scheme, retrofitted thrusters, a LavaCore reactor, and more powerful weapon systems to give it extra punch when engaging larger warships in fleet actions.

TD-C-6 Mk2 Bull Class Heavy Corvette

Like it\'s retrofitted counterpart the Mako Mark 2, the Bull Mark 2 features new thrusters and a Lava core reactor. In additon, shield capacity and power regeration have been improved significantly.

Greetings customers and competitors! Just a quick status report here. I\'m on temporary leave for recreational purposes, and as a result all TDIS projects are on hold until early next week. Following my return, several new Carcharadon line vessels will be finished and released, including the promised Tiger Class cruiser. In addition, a personal friend of mine has been intermittently working on a small project of his own, and might be adding his shipyard\'s work to the Triple Diamond \"family\". I\'ll announce the release of his TDIS ship series if and when that is applicable.

Also, just saw the announcement for Space Engineers. Looks interesting. I\'m always down for more good space games, so we\'ll see if it becomes a worthy companion to our beloved StarMade. One can only hope.

Production at TDIS is returning to normal. However, due to the recent change in turret docking, some of our designs will require smaller turrets and/or larger docking spaces to make them work. After the required testing, new versions of previous Carcharadon line vessels will be released with updated turrets.

Greetings to all. After an unfortunate and unexpected hiatus, Triple Diamond Industrial Shipyards has returned to production. While the Carchardon line is still being retrofitted and updated, some time ago a hardened-hull based ship series was promised. Well here we are, with the deubt of the Legio Line of fleet Vessels.

Legio-series ships are designed to be heavy hitting and aggressive, featuring a more powerful armament and a more durable hull than their much cheaper Carcharadon line counterparts. So to kick things off, let\'s take a look at the fist Legio ship to come off the production lines:

    TD-L-1 Gladius Class Frigate

The Gladius was designed with aggressiveness in mind, and as such she excells in a hunter-killer/harassment role. A Thrust-Mass Ratio of 3:2 gives her solid speed for her size, and a quartet of Quad point defense turrets can cut through anything small enough to outmanuver her. When on the attack a single belly-mounted rapid-repeating AMC provides consistent firepower, which when supplemented by the cannon in each wing offer more firepower than the larger Ragged Tooth Class. She also mounts a quad missle battery in the nose for dealing with static/disabled targets. While her shields are thin for her class, the hardened hull skin offers good protection. Still, 1v1 slugging matches with titans are not not reccomended. Her interior is better equipped than previous TDIS vessels, featuring a large captains cabin, raised observation bridge, medicae, eatery, and accomodations for a small crew.

    Length: 145m

    Height: 38m

    Width: 57m

    Mass: 2088.8

Armament: 2 wing-mounted AMC, 1 ventral-mounted AMC, 4 Quad Class Heavy PD turrets

    Shields: 151841.0 (5681 s/sec)

    Power: 114732.3 (445088.4 e/sec)

    Thrust: 2962.4

    The powerful engine-block.

The core-room, showing the ramp to the captain\'s cabin, power feeds to primary cannon, ventral-mount maintenance trench, and entrance to crew-access hallway.

In addition to producing the Gladius, TDIS engineers have retrofitted the Ragged Tooth Carcharadon Frigate. The Whitetip will also be retrofitted soon. Also, the TDIS entry to Vecordean\'s ship-design contest from some time back has been re-tooled as the TD-C-16 Bullhead Class Corvette for general distribution. Ironically it turns out to be one of our most effecient vessels.

To put it simply, this ship was designed as a thing, became another thing, turned back to the first thing, and now has resulted in a thing. With that in mind, I present to you the first Legio line destroyer.

    TD-L-2 Pilum Class Destroyer

    Length: 247m

    Height: 67m

    Width: 91m

    Mass: 8996.9

Armament: 8 nose-mounted AMC, 8 Star Class PD turrets

    Shields: 498652.0 (13856 s/sec)

    Power: 42951.5 (1439860.3 e/sec)

    Thrust: 17947.7

Originally intended as a modular assault vessel, as the Pilum began to take shape our designers realized it would be better suited to a frontal combat role. The Pilum\'s sketetal structure offers a more difficult target to hit than bulkier vessels, and her core is lodged in the up-armored heart of the vessel for maximum sirvivability. Powered by a very large LavaCore reactor, the Pilum features a thrust to mass ration of close to 2:1, offering quick acceleration for getting in and out of combat quickly. On the offensive end she features eight AMC cannons running the length of her elongated forward hull. Eight bulky Star Class point defense turrets offer additional firepower and can protect the vulnerable rear of the slow-turning destroyer. Her interior is the most well-equipped to date among TDIS vessels, featuring accomodations for a solidly sized crew, a large captain\'s cabin, mess hall, infirmary, storage room, observation rooms, and, ulike the Gladius, restrooms for more than just the captain.

An image of the Pilum\'s large drive-section, the most vulnerable section of the vessel. Fighter escort is recommended.

Speaking of destroyers, the Whitetip Class Carchardon line destroyer has been re-furbished and is once again ready for distribution. Enjoy our destroyer offerings, and may their hulls be strong and guns be true when you take them to combat. Download links for both can be found in the first post of this thread.

Look forward to more support-type vessels in the near future to help round out the Legio line.
