I know that a big problem with the beam down beam is that "it would make shuttles unesecerry " i don't think so like the transport beacon the beam down beam could have a charge time what makes it good for exploration but if you want to tranfer something like cargo from planet to ship it would take a long time with transporter also because with the new stack system it would take long to transfer it a shuttle would be a better idea in this case.
