Just a few minutes ago the german gaming community CoopY interviewed Schema on the developement of Starmade, and Schema definitely gave us some juicy pieces of into on what he has planned for your entertainment! Here's a link to the interview: http://www.twitch.tv/coopmine/c/2565682

Keep in mind all these are speculative changes, and at least some of it is likely to change by the time it get's implimented... If at all. Still, the words of mighty Schema hold great power!

These are what I managed to pick up thanks to the translations done by moderators at the time:

Schema is adding randomly generated buildings and cities on planets! In the future, these cities may be populated by NPCs, or even have shops/missions built in!

Schema is also working on a player inventory system much like Diablo's, where you have a certain amount of space represented as a grid, and equippable objects take different dimensions, such as 2x2, or 2x4, or 1x1. These items may be things such as EVA/armor suits, tools, maybe even weapons or jetpacks!

Each faction can have a single flagship, which may have special capabilities or bonuses!

Brand new crafting system! You can atomize items and blocks into atoms or isotopes, and reform them into other items or blocks in a factory! Crafting will require a recipe that has variable quality and can be traded. Recipes are made through a process called research (Probably not going to be implimented very soon). There are 32/64 isotopes, and certain minerals/materials will yeild different amounts or types of isotope.

You will be able to add player owned shops into stations!

There will be fixed resource gathering structures like gas miners!

There will be some sort of fast travel, but Schema isn't entirely sure of how that will work. He said that if it's warpgate-based it will be expensive, require lots of power, and have a recharge time of sorts.

There will be complex mission system that puts you in the role of a freelancer, running missions both NPC and player driven. The missions may be more complex than 'go here, destroy this/defend this' and can be created by players. This sounds a lot more like mercenary work than a traditional RPG hero. This system can be used for things like bounties, setting traps and requesting materials!

Aliens and NPCs! (Probably not anytime soon, though.)

AI modules will have an enormous effect on PvP and PvE in the future, with a single player being able to effectively control several mining, support, combat, and scout craft, all run by AI. Imagine what massive battles a large group of players each with their own AI combat group could make! There will very likely be AI settings for every major role in the game! Someone even hinted at a 'master AI' somewhere.

GUI and navigation changes are planned!

Schema's super-secret IRC plans were revealed!

CoopY is going to release a Youtube version of it with fully translated English captions in aday or two, so keep your ears perked!

Was hoping for a translation, thank you

Would of been more beneficial to have the interview in english,

seen as its one of the most widely used languages.

Unless the bossman does not speak it ofcourse...

    Cheers!

Schema is German, and CoopY is German, so it seems to make sense that the interview be in German, but fear not, we\'ll have our grubby English hands on all their words soon enough!
