A little idea that not everyone will like :> .

Had the idea of a modified AI block , that has this properties:

Overrides any docking restrictions, like Factionmodules etc.
Has to be build right after the shipcore.
Maximum Entity size of 3 or 4 blocks.
Warhead and weapons can´t be placed.

This would make a Drone with trackingfunction possible to build.
The idea is it docks anywhere where it can dock , on a selected or told target when it finds a Rail.
And submits it´s position. With radarjammer this would be nice .

What do you say ?

I'm guessing if this were to be implemented that means people would just only keep docks on the inside or protected by hanger doors and not have docks on the outside?

With such limited building options, I recommend it be a new weapon system instead, with 0-damage, literal "tracer" rounds.

Tracking devices can be small enough to be the size of cannon rounds. Still need to have the vulnerability to be shot off or otherwise destroyed.

*cough*sticky blocks*cough* then this could just be torpedo mode with a sticky block on the end.
