recently there was a massive balance update for all the ship components. and that was done gloriously. it fixed a whole lot of issues, maybe caused some new ones, but point is it was done. it mostly focused on just ship components.
now I think its time to do the same for mob and other entity spawns. the new stations are cool as hell. and what most are too blinded by all the new! Is, the way these things are coming into the game. they can now be edited just like ships, which is also something I really think needs a revisit as well. see now we have the ability to control what these things are equipped with. with that fact brings with it a few balance problems.
Ships and stations can now affect the overall game difficulties. this means as cool as all this new control is, it also means some new issues to be sorted out. such as settings for how often, what can spawn, and where it is allowed to do so.
The Galaxy map update made a HUGE freaking mess of things.
We need to be able to not only set what can spawn, as now with stations and pirate ships, we can do just that. we also need to have a say in where they can turn up. that means new settings to place what and how far from spawn they appear. also we will need to set where they can spawn inside of systems.
Right now the game just puts stations all over randomly throughout the map other contents be damned. this while effectively useful for populating the universe with the new content, does not work well if you as a player wants to customize your sector and need to deal with the odd random game spawn that gets in the way.
