Thruster Plumes not working

Hi,
I noticed about a month ago that my thruster plumes are not working on my macbook, i have looked at the adv settings in the launcher and the settings in the game itself.
Any ideas would help a great deal!!

I have the same problem. No idea how to fix it though. I downloaded a mod that's supposed to enlarge thruster plumes but no effect. Any luck?
